It happens after the rapper was shot many times at a New Jersey retail center.

Many admirers were horrified to find that the rapper was "brain dead" after reading false rumors.

There are no reliable sources that, as of June 27, 2022, can attest to the musician's paralysis.

What rumors are there ?

The rumors appear to have originated from a tweet that made additional assertions that were not corroborated by any official documentation.

Lil Tjay's close relatives and acquaintances have not mentioned or confirmed any information about his paralysis.

Online rumors had also said that the celebrity was deceased. These turned out to be untrue in the end.

How did Lil Tjay fare ?

Just after midnight on June 22, 2022, Lil Tjay was shot at a shopping mall and taken to the hospital.

Tione Jayden Merritt, the rapper's true name, underwent emergency surgery as a result of the attack and is reportedly recovering well.

On June 23, 2022, the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office tweeted: "Update on the shooting on June 22: the suspect has been detained and charged with attempted murder, armed robbery, and firearms offenses.

"2 other people are accused of having an illegal weapon.

One victim was discharged from the hospital; the other was in a critical but stable condition.

In connection with the incident, Mohamed Konate was charged with attempted murder, armed robbery, and crimes involving weapons.

Jeffrey Valdez and Antoine Boyd, who were with Tjay at the time of the incident, have also been detained and charged with second-degree unauthorized possession of a weapon along with Konate.
