Scarlet & Violet fans are going crazy about a new Pokemon that resembles Diglett (but has a long, flexible body).

A new Pokemon game is often packed with intriguing new information, and Gen 9 is showing no signs of being any different. It is evident that not all surprises are presented in the same manner, though.

Need a good example? You only need to look at a recently revealed Pokemon, which is supposedly closely connected to Diglett.

Paldean Diglett Has a Long Body & Fans Hate It

Finally, a new Diglett-like Pokemon from the Paldea region appears from its underground burrow, and it's terrible.

The Pokemon Company showcased the new area and its inhabitants for the Pokemon World Ecological Society. And after a serene video of Paldea's Pokemon exploring their surroundings, a shocking new development stunned the entire world.

It appears that Paldea is also home to a new white-bodied Diglett species. The new Pokemon's distinct color is not its only distinguishing characteristic; its flexible (and scary) body also allows it to expand straight out of its hole.

What Is Wiglett – New Paldean Diglett

Contrary to appearances, it is not a Paldean variant of the Gen 1 favorite. The experts have determined that this new Pokemon is actually Wiglett, a completely new species that isn't quite Diglett.

This suggests that the new "convergent" Pokemon leaks were real. According to the rumours, Diglett would possess a brand-new Water-type form that evolved differently from its Ground cousin, complete with an unique typing and Pokedex entry!

And in addition to a convergent Dugtrio, another Gen 1 water-type will also be getting a new variety, per this leak of 72 Pokemon heading to Scarlet & Violet!
