Christian Eriksen has been named as Manchester United’s Player of the Month for September 2022.

The summer acquisition seems to have become more and more at home in the Reds’ midfield over the past few weeks, and fans have noticed it by voting in our official poll.

Eriksen won the coveted honor in just his second month of competitive play with the club, garnering a majority 62 percent of the vote and defeating rival contenders Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane.

For Erik ten Hag’s team in recent games, the Denmark international has continued to shine in a deeper midfield role with Scott McTominay.

Three days before perhaps his best United performance to date, against Premier League leaders Arsenal, Christian put forth a confident display as we earned a crucial three points against Leicester City on September’s opening day.

The 30-year-old played a key role in the Reds’ victory over the Gunners at Old Trafford. With a deft ball to Bruno Fernandes and a selfless set-up for Marcus Rashford’s second goal, he was instrumental in the first goal of the game.

Then, in our Europa League opener against Real Sociedad, our no. 14 continued to play with enthusiasm during his first-half performance. After that, he produced a Man-of-the-Match performance last time out at Sheriff Tiraspol, with an assist for Sancho’s opening goal serving as the highlight.

As he continues to adapt to life in M16, Eriksen’s accomplishments have been publicly recognized. Jesper Blomqvist, a former Reds winger, is the most recent expert to praise the efforts of fellow Scandinavians.

The Swedishman told us this week, “I think Eriksen really is something exceptional. “He can make the pass, even playing a little bit deeper.

“Not usually the assist for a goal, but sometimes the ‘third assist’ for a goal [far back in the move],” the speaker said. He provides opportunities for the strikers to produce by making room for them to do so.

He has done a great job. His vision and the way he perceives the game are truly outstanding. I adore seeing him play. He is a fantastic signing.

“I think there’s a fantastic tradition of Scandinavian players to build on again,” Blomqvist continued.

“Back then, there were three or four of us as well; at one point, there may have been five or six of us, including Erik Nevland.

It’s fantastic because, in my opinion, we Scandinavians tend to recognize how crucial it is to forge strong bonds among one another in order to establish a sturdy defense. It’s nice that we bring something positive from our home nations, in my opinion.

With Eriksen’s victory, our summer hires have now won back-to-back Player of the Month honors, after Lisandro Martinez’s triumph in August.

After Eriksen, Sancho received 28% of the vote in the September survey, with Varane receiving the final 10%.
